Broccoli Salad

This is a great alternative to a lettuce salad...if you want to try something different. I've tried broccoli salads at loads of functions but always prefer this recipe.

Bunch of Broccoli - finely chopped
1/2 lb bacon - crisped and chopped*
1/2 red onion - finely chopped
1 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup raisins

Dressing
1/2 cup of mayonnaise (or miracle whip)
1 cup sour cream
sugar to taste (about 1 Tbsp)

These amounts may need to be altered depending on the size of the salad...you can also add a bit of milk to the dressing to thin it out a bit.

*I find it's soo much easier (and less of a mess) to cook bacon in the oven. And interestingly it even tastes better. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper (no cleanup) and lay the bacon on it...cook at 350 until crispy. Cool and chop*
